1999 JEEP CHEROKEE STAGE 6:SOLD
We finished this Jeep in 3/2022 and sold it to a good client that has since contacted us after seeing our LS package Jeeps and wanted to upgrade this Jeep with a DAS LS package. With this Jeep being perfectly built and set up around its current platform and only 15k miles on the build, we were able to convince him to start a LS build from the ground up so this just came back to DAS. This is your very rare opportunity to own a DAS Stage 6 XJ without the 2-3 year wait. This was one of our most popular builds we have done in recent years. We sold this Jeep for just shy of $70k and it has been garaged and well cared for with about 15k miles put on it. The Jeep will land back in VA around 1-20-24 which we will full inspect and service as needed and get it 100% DAS retail ready. These pics and video below show the jeep when we sold it.
This is perhaps one of it not the most complete XJ built. Yes there are Jeeps more capable off-roading as that's never our goal to build rock crawlers and off road only rigs, yes there may be some XJs with a different driveline or motor, but there will not be one out there with this complete package and cosmetic perfection. Every Single item and not only brand new up upgraded for the perfect XJ that can go on 10 hour road trips, handle most trails or offloading that you may desire and all while looking like a one of a kind XJ.
The drivability of this Jeep will be excellent. The 4.56 Gears are a perfect everyday driving ratio that gives the Jeep plenty of pep both on and off roading. It will cruise down the highway at 85 with zero issues and track perfectly straight all while enjoying your heated seats, new bolsters and upgraded modern bluetooth navigation system. For cold mornings, pre-set your heated seats and heat with your auto-start system. The driveline in our Stage 6 package is as smooth as it can be with upgraded Slip Yoke Eliminator System and DriveShafts. Braking is better than factory with upgraded front brakes and HUGE rear Disc Brakes which is a major improvement. For the days you want to hit the trail, snow, or explorations, the Yukon Axles, 4.,56 Gears, ARB front and rear lockers have you covered.
PAINT AND BODY
You are looking at a 16 week paint job on this custom XJ. We have well over 300 man hours in the paint and body alone. We stripped down this XJ to metal and started from step one with 2K primer, sealer, a custom Toyota Calvary Blue Paint, and 3 coats of clear coat. When we painted this XJ, it was 100% stripped down to the bare bones, all doors, windows, glass, hood, flares, rear gate, weather trim, handles, trim, belt moldings, door hinges, bumpers, grills, lights, etc were removed. All the Jams, pillars, back side of doors, back side of hood, back side of rear gate, etc were all sanded and prepped for a prefect finish to match the body. This is a very time consuming method but the end result speaks for itself. We also painted all the door handles, mirror housings, belt moldings, factory roof rack and more. In addition to the ENTIRE Jeep being painted, it will underwent a 4 day wet sanding and buffing for a perfectly flat top clear coat layer and mirror finish. The roof, rockers, raised hood portion, and center header panels will be finished in Black Kevlar which will stand up to the toughest elements possible.

WEEKS 1-4:
We spent the first 4 weeks prepping this XJ for its complete color change paint Job. We decided to finish the XJ in the Toyota Calvary Blue. With all DAS paint job, we disassemble the entire Jeep, all panes, glass, moldings, handles, etc. This process ensures a factory like finish with no tape lines, hard edges, etc. The photos below and masking are there for body work, primer, and sealer. As you see, 100% of the Jeep will be painted, front and rear sides of all panels.
WEEKS 4 - 7
After all the body and prep work was completed the all panels and body received a full primer which is then blocked and sanded down for a perfectly flat finish, followed by a 2nd coat of primer and another blocking. After the primer process is completed, we then spray a sealer coat for added protection and longevity before the base color is applied. As seen below, every square inch of body and metal is sprayed. In the photos below the primer is a light gray and the sealer is a dark gray.
WEEKS 8 - 9
Now that the entire body is ready for base and clear, we applied 2 coats of Axalta Base Color and 2 Coats of Axalta Clear. Once the panels are cured, we then Wet-Sand, High Speed Compound, Buff, and Polish for a true show finish. All Panels are then installed and the Jeep will now move over to the Techs for engine, driveline, suspension, brakes and more.
WEEKS 10 - 16
For the next few weeks we will be building the complete driveline of the XJ. We are going with Yukon 4.56 F&R Ring and Pinions along with Yukon Full Rebuild Kits. All four axles will be replaced with Yukon Axles and we will be running a full F&R ARB Air Locker System. A SYE and upgraded driveshafts will be installed after the full NP231 is completely rebuilt and upgraded. Front brakes will be replaced with slotted and drilled rotors with upgraded calipers and pads as well as full stainless steel brake lines. The rear drums will be converted to a full disc brake system with all new parking cables and parking brakes with stainless steel rear lines. Finally the ARB diff covers will be refinished to match the DAS bronze wheels.
WEEKS 17 - 21
Full engine bay prep for the all new 4.0 Engine and upgrades. At this time the Cooling System, AC system, Fuel System, and Ignition System will be installed.
WEEK 22
Customer requested full color match bushwhacker flares. Color matching these is a very time consuming process as the flares are originally textured plastic. We start by hand sanding each flares with multiple different grit sand paper, once perfectly flat and smooth, we then seal the plastic, then prime with guide coat, hand sand again, base coat with paint then clear coat.
